Copying a DVD using an OEM version of Nero 6
|
If you are having trouble copying a DVD, try this method. Ordinarily, you would put in the source disk, select DVD and select Copy Disc. I have found a high degree of failure using this feature. All I want is the folder VIDEO_TS and the files contained therein.

TS stands for 'title set' and is part of the dvd structure. The Video_TS folder contains all of the files, correctly identified by informaton (ifo) and their backups (bup) files, necessary for a DVD to play. Audio_TS was mainly designed for DVD Audio. However, even an empty folder of Audio_TS is required by some players for the disc to be recognized it as DVD. |
Instead Click on Nero Burning ROM SE (or similar) under Applications…

Select DVD-Video - be sure the top drop down box says DVD. Then select New…
DVD-
You will be presented with the compilation screen on the left with a AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS supplied courtesy of Nero. What we want to do is fill up the VIDEO_TS folder with the files from the source DVD. This should be as simple as selecting the source DVD drive and selecting the VIDEO_TS folder, right clicking, Select All, Copy and then Paste into VIDEO_TS on the compilation folder. I have found some DVD’s won’t allow this and have had to first copy the files to the HDD using the same procedure, and then pasting them into the compilation VIDEO_TS folder.

You might want to rename the name of the Disc from NEW to reflect the content…

Now that you have your VIDEO_TS Folder populated, simply burn the blank…
